Accessibility
Low Pass is a set of mountain-driving instruments you read at a glance, so it is built to work in dark cabins, in bright sun, and without relying on color. Here is what works today and what we are still improving.
Dark by default
Every screen is dark unless you choose otherwise. In Settings > Display and widgets, Appearance can keep Low Pass dark, switch to a light day palette, or follow your device.
Color is never the only signal
Every status that has a color also has a shape or a word. Caution grades get a triangle and warnings an octagon. Road and weather alerts say WARNING or CAUTION. The speed limit shows an octagon when you are over it.
Reduce Motion
With Reduce Motion on, instruments update without sweeping or springing, and the one-time instrument self-test is skipped. Reveals drop their springy motion too.
Contrast
Instrument text and colors meet a 4.5:1 contrast ratio in every instrument theme, in both the dark and day palettes. For the strongest contrast, choose the High contrast instrument theme in Settings > Display and widgets > Instrument theme.
Spoken briefings
Optional spoken briefings read out passes, steep grades, crests, long climbs and descents, altitude milestones and road and weather alerts ahead, so you can keep your eyes on the road. The same information is on screen. Set them up in Settings > Spoken briefings. You can hear samples in Settings before turning them on.
Larger text
At the largest accessibility text sizes, the cockpit switches to a large-text layout that shows one instrument page at a time. Some instrument labels do not scale yet. We are working on it.
VoiceOver and Voice Control
Every instrument has a spoken label with its value, unit and accuracy. We are testing VoiceOver and Voice Control from start to finish and will update this page with what we find.
Captions and audio descriptions
Low Pass has no video or recorded dialogue, so captions and audio descriptions do not apply.
